choosing-to-bleed:

-I should run away and then make all of my friends and family look for me just to validate that they actually care for me enough to miss me

-if I faked my own death and showed up at the funeral who would be there? yea that would validate my feelings of who actually cares

-i hope I get terribly ill and get put on the hospital so that people can come visit me and see me

Man….. y'all going to hate me and drag me for saying this but. She is right. Live Stock Agriculture in the United States does take land from Natives. She’s right and her cause is valid. She’s angry and has every right to be because this is her reality and her cause for not eating meat stems from social truth and ethnic disparity.

I will say this though: I’M NOT GOING TO STOP EATING MEAT because I’m not going to pretend the agricultural industry isn’t doing harm to POC around the world. If I wasn’t on mobile I would pull up the numerous articles and statistics pertaining to how agricultural farming takes advantage of Native Americans (North&South), Asian countries, African countries, and Island Countries. The articles, statistics, and facts about veganism celebrates not eating meat and healthy and how it feeds off the back of third world workers AND ignoring human rights is astounding. Veganism, a life style I actually fully support for those who are (I’ve even considered multiple multiple times) also has roots in classism that no one cares to admit.

Guilting me into becoming a vegetarian or a vegan isn’t going to work if that’s the angle your using because the food industry is abusive on every corner.

I’ll support the dismantling of targeting Native American Land, the refinancing of native communities targeted by big industry, the restructure of the Live Stock industry practices, the restructuring of the agricultural industry, safe new innovative ways to farm and harvest crops, and hell, even meat cloning to save the cows.

But no I’m not going to try to guilt or force people to change what they eat and their diets to become a vegan or a vegetarian because 1. NOT EVERYONE CAN DO THAT, 2. NOT
EVERYONE HAS THE MONEY OR RESOURCES TO DO THAT, and 3. Not everyone fucking wants to.

Also, what the actual fuck “y'all claim to be human rights activists”, is they don’t get the hell out of here with that 😒😒

Just to add, aside from those who get affected by agricultural farming outside and inside the US, there’s also a lot of harm here to those who get hired by these big corporations to pick their crops. There’s a lot of abuse and countless stories of workers getting hit, held hostage in homes not adequate to live in and not being given their wages at all. And even if they are workers don’t even make enough to buy the very same fruit or veggies they’re picking. Also, a lot of women suffer sexual harassment from their bosses and even other men working with them. The majority of this abuse goes unreported because many are pressured into staying quiet by their own bosses or because of their own immigration status.

Just wanna make clear tho, I’m here for the cause of fighting for these abuses in the meat industry, but I’m not here to get shamed for eating meat, especially when the topic of abuse in the agricultural industry isn’t even mentioned because in that case I could easily do the same to you.
